Privacy Policy

Summary of this Privacy Policy (tl;dr)

If you want all the nitty, gritty details, then you can read all the legal stuff below this paragraph, but here’s the gist of it: We’ve tried really hard to limit (or eliminate) the collection of personal information on this site. In general, only the private areas of the site collect personally identifiable information in the form of comments or photos.

Who we are

Our website address is: https://weekendimages.com.

What personal data we collect

We don’t collect personal data on the public portion of this website. The private portion of the site may collect information you provide in comment forms. (See below.)

Photos

Well, this is a photography site after all, and as such there will be photos of individuals on display. While photos of people in public places are usually considered fair game for photographers, we understand that not everyone wants their likeness displayed online. To that end, just let us know if you want something removed from the private portion of the site and we’ll remove it immediately.

Comments

Comments are not permitted on the public portion of this site. Private portions of the site may permit comments, and if so, collect data that you enter into the forms, with the name being optional. Comments are placed into a lovely keepsake owner’s album. (Wink, wink.) Actually, we don’t do anything with them except display them for the viewing of other visitors.

Cookies

We use “functional” cookies, required for operation of this website. We don’t use cookies that track you.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We don’t share your data unless we are requested to do so by law enforcement.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service, but are probably just checked by Mark.

Caching

This site utilizes caching in order to facilitate a faster response time and better user experience. Caching potentially stores a duplicate copy of every web page that is on display on this site. All cache files are temporary, and are never accessed by any third party, except as necessary to obtain technical support from the cache plugin vendor. Cache files expire on a schedule set by the site administrator, but may easily be purged by the admin before their natural expiration, if necessary. We may use QUIC.cloud services to process & cache your data temporarily. Please see https://quic.cloud/privacy-policy/ for more details.
